Thank you to WILDflower for your Support
WILDflower is a small local business co-owned by two amazing women, Michelle Havens and Ashley VanSickle. Michelle and Ashley designed their “Stronger Collection” for “those who are stronger than the curveballs that life throws their way”. The duo were inspired to create the collection to support their best friend Amber Thomson who is courageously fighting her second battle with cancer. A portion of every piece purchased from the Stronger Collection was set aside for the Brant Community Cancer Clinic in honour of their friend Amber because the clinic has been such a positive part of her journey. Amber explains:
“In September of 2020 I was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer and started chemotherapy injections in October at the Brant Community Cancer Clinic. Most people would think this would be one of the worst places to spend their Fridays but the medical team at the cancer clinic made my experience with chemo surprisingly positive. They went out of their way to make me feel comfortable and always answered my questions or adjusted things to help put me at ease. Every nurse and doctor walked around with a smile on their faces and treated every person in that clinic like a friend. I trusted every single one of them and even felt a little sad to say goodbye after my last chemo infusion. I respect these health care workers more than they will ever know and I appreciate the time they spent with me, making me feel like an important person but also a valued friend.”
On August 17th Amber visited the Brantford General Hospital once again with Michelle and Ashley, each of them wearing a shirt from The Stronger Collection. Our sincere thanks to Michelle and Ashley of WILDflower for their most generous donation of $825.00 to the Brant Community Healthcare System Foundation, designated to the Cancer Clinic. Thank you to Michelle and Ashley from WILDflower and to everyone at the Brant Community Cancer Clinic who help patients like Amber each and every day!
