Pita Pete promotes Healthy Hearts at the BCHS

Pita Pit’s lovable mascot Pita Pete and staff members from the King George Road Pita Pit location came to visit patients and families at the BCHS on Feb. 6 to spread cheer and promote February’s focus on heart health.

Pita Pete’s first stop was Paediatrics to hand out colouring books and crayons to our young patients and pose with staff for a selfie or two, before moving onto the Family Birthing Centre to greet happy families in the ward visiting newborn family members. Pita Pete finished off the day with a surprise meet-and-greet with adult patients in the BCHS Rehabilitation ward.

Pita Pit has partnered with the BCHS Foundation during the month of February to promote the Healthy Hearts campaign aimed at supporting heart healthy meal options. From Feb. 1 through to Feb. 14, all three Brantford Pita Pit locations are asking customers for a $1 to $5 donation to the BCHS Foundation, with all of the proceeds benefitting Cardiac Care patient equipment purchases at the Brant Community Healthcare System.

So, stop on by a Brantford area Pita Pit for a heart healthy pita and donate to a good cause!
