Brant Community Healthcare System (BCHS) Foundation has surpassed another fundraising goal, announcing today that its Hope for Healthcare holiday campaign raised over $362,000 for the local healthcare system.
“We are incredibly appreciative of our donors and their continuous generosity that help us continue to invest in our system and reimagine health care in our community,” said Kari Wilson, Executive Director of the BCHS Foundation. “Despite the timing of the postal disruption and the fundraising challenges it created, the BCHS Foundation donors continued to give generously during the holiday season. They continue to recognize the importance of our cause and make such a difference to our health care system.”
The funds raised as part of the Hope for Healthcare campaign will support the purchase of medical equipment to benefit the SC Johnson Departments of Medical Imaging and Cardiac Diagnostics at the Brantford General.
Diagnostic Imaging at the BCHS plays a vital role in a patient’s healthcare journey, from screening, diagnosing, monitoring, and treating various medical conditions. Over 200,000 diagnostic imaging procedures were performed during the 2023-2024 fiscal year. This year’s campaign is focused on raising the funds needed to replace medical technology in Diagnostic Imaging including digital mammography, ultrasound technology (at both the Brantford General Hospital and the Willett, Paris), a gamma camera, and MRI. The BCHS Foundation needs to raise over $6 million from the community over the next few years to benefit this area of care, as the provincial government does not fund the acquisition or upgrade of technology.
“We are also so very grateful to our matching Hope for Healthcare donor Mott Manufacturing who contributed an incredible $100,000”, said Wilson.
“At Mott, we are proud to support the Brant Community Healthcare System Foundation. As a local business, we believe in investing back into the community that has supported us for years, ensuring that healthcare services in Brant continue to thrive and benefit everyone. This contribution reflects our ongoing commitment to the well-being and future of our community,” said Ed Seegmiller, President and CEO, Mott Manufacturing.
The needs of the hospital are increasing exponentially, as our community continues to grow and flourish. Matching state of the art equipment with high quality medical services is essential in providing exemplary care. Donors make a significant impact and help provide our caregivers the tools they need to care for patients at Brant Community Healthcare System.
