Thank you so much to Imam Abu Noman Tarek, Imam and Director of Religious Affairs, Brantford Mosque and Nasar Hamed, president of Muslim Association of Brantford for presenting a donation pledge of $25,000 to the Brant Community Healthcare System (BCHS) Foundation on Mar. 20, together with delegates from one of their many supporting partners, Islamic Circle North America (ICNA) Relief Canada.

BCHS President and CEO, David McNeil and staff from the BCHS Foundation and BCHS Foundation Board of Directors were on hand to accept their generous charitable gift and receive their pledge to help promote community peace, respect, compassion and unity.

“We are very grateful for this generous donation,” said BCHS Foundation Board Chair Chris McCurdy. “The Brantford Mosque and the Muslim Association of Brantford’s vision of a united community is embodied in this wonderful act of giving, which follows in the true spirit of Islam.”

“Brantford Mosque, the Muslim Association of Brantford and the Muslim community of Brantford-Brant is committed to supporting local institutions including our healthcare system,” said Imam Abu Noman Tarek.

“The Muslim Association of Brantford has pledged a $25,000 donation to the Brant Community Healthcare System Foundation, but we couldn’t do this without the valued support of our partners. We sincerely thank ICNA Relief Canada for their ongoing support with a $5,000 donation to this important cause to help fulfil our $25,000 pledge,” said Naser Hamed.

Members of the Brantford Mosque and the Muslim Association of Brantford provide invaluable support to local families in need and regional social services, as well as supporting local healthcare initiatives and services for the community at the Brantford General and The Willett, Paris.

Much of the good they do in the Brantford and area community comes from their network of local donors and supporters, as well as outreach programs and their fundraising work with other Islamic associations and organizations throughout the province of Ontario. Brantford Mosque is a project of the Muslim Association of Brantford.

ICNA Relief Canada is a federally registered charity serving humanity since 1997 in Canada and across the world. With their support, Brantford Mosque has sponsored four Syrian families since 2016 and helped them settle in Brantford. Additionally, this partnership supports over 200 families with monthly food hampers and weekly counselling services.
