Brantford Bulldogs Generously Support Pediatrics

On Wednesday January 22 the Brantford Bulldogs played a very special game in support of Brant Community Healthcare System (BCHS) Foundation. “BFD Night” featured the Bulldogs wearing themed jerseys in an iconic black and silver colour scheme representing the hard-working nature and community-based mentality of the city of Brantford. The themed jerseys worn by the players were also auctioned, along with a 50/50 raffle supporting the BCHS Foundation.

Prior to the game, Bonnie Camm, President and CEO of the BCHS was joined by Dr. Lee Ferrao, Chair of the BCHS Foundation, along with BCHS grateful patients Julian, Ron, and Atlas to accept a generous $100,000 donation from the Brantford Bulldogs and Bulldogs’ Foundation. New Brantford Bulldogs owners the Hyman Family then matched this with a $100,000 gift of their own, bringing the total donation to an incredible $200,000! This amazing gift will greatly benefit pediatrics and infant care at the Brant Community Healthcare System, which serves Brantford, Brant County, Six Nations of the Grand River, Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, Haldimand County, Norfolk County and surrounding areas.

During the game’s broadcast on Rogers TV, BCHS Foundation Executive Director Kari Wilson and Bulldogs’ Foundation Peggy Chapman joined Reed Duthie to discuss impact of the Bulldogs’ Foundation’s donation to pediatrics and the Brant Community Healthcare System:

The evening was a huge success both off and on the ice, with the Bulldogs securing a 6-2 victory over the Niagara IceDogs, Brantford’s 7th consecutive win. And Bulldogs captain Patrick Thomas scored 6 points on the night (1 goal, 5 assists), setting a new Bulldogs franchise record for points in a single game.

The BCHS Foundation is grateful to the Brantford Bulldogs, Bulldogs’ Foundation, Michael Andlauer, and the Hyman Family for their incredible generosity and for hosting an amazing night in support of local healthcare!
