#ThankfulThursday gives the Brant Community Healthcare System Foundation a regular opportunity to recognize and thank the important individuals, businesses and organizations in our community that help to make a difference to the quality and effectiveness of our local healthcare system.
This week’s Thankful Thursday features:
The BCHS Volunteers Association’s 45 wonderful years of support
A huge Thankful Thursday THANK YOU to the BCHS Volunteers and the BCHS Volunteer Association for 45 wonderful years of dedication and support for local healthcare and the Brant Community Healthcare System.
Every year, more than 54,000 patients throughout Brantford, Brant County, Six Nations, Mississaugas of the Credit and the surrounding communities are diagnosed, treated and cared for by BCHS medical staff, but our 330 BCHS volunteers and the Volunteer Association are at the forefront of the Brant Community Healthcare System continuum of care.
Volunteers are the friendly faces that greet you as you enter the Brantford General and The Willett, Paris. They help guide and transport patients and their families to receive care and provide comfort and support, a kind word or a warm blanket.
Volunteers help in many ways. Some work a few days a week at the reception desk sharing information with patients and their families or offering a welcome smile, while other volunteers prefer to serve customers at the Volunteer Association Gift Shop or transport patients to and from Ambulatory Care.
Did you know?
Over the past 30 years, the Volunteer Association has contributed over $2.9 million and impacted 12 different areas of patient care, making them the BCHS Foundation’s second largest donor.
The Volunteer Association’s generosity has allowed us to keep up-to-date on the latest technological advances, renovate space to
better serve our patients and loved ones and purchase new equipment required to deliver care to our patients each and every day.
Thank you, BCHS Volunteers and the Volunteer Association. You are our Thankful Thursday Recipients for the week of Thursday, May 2, 2019.
