Ontario Electrical League (OEL) and Combined Metal Industries (CMI) donate $13,800 to BCHS Foundation
Thank you to Ontario Electrical League (OEL) Tri-County Chapter and Combined Metal Industries Inc. (CMI) for their continued partnership with the Brant Community Healthcare System (BCHS) Foundation, and for developing Weigh Your Scrap and Give Back, a program offering local businesses a unique opportunity to donate between 10% and 100% of scrap metal from their work sites to raise much-needed funds to support local healthcare.
On Thursday, Dec. 6 Bruce Whiteside, Ed Lubek, Terry Smith and Jeremy Kocsis representing Combined Metal Industries (CMI) and Ontario Electrical League (OEL) – Tri-County Chapter presented Brant Community Healthcare System (BCHS) Foundation Executive Director Kari Wilson with a donation for $13,800 resulting from the proceeds generated by their combined efforts to promote Weigh Your Scrap and Give Back to community businesses.
Donation dollars from the Weigh Your Scrap and Give Back program will be directed to men’s health to purchase a resectoscope for use in surgical procedures and Urology at the BCHS.
About Resectoscopes: A resectoscope is a type of endoscope that combines a telescope and microscope instrumentation to enable physicians to view and perform surgery using minimal invasion. This device avoids the use of surgical incisions and promotes healing time. The resectoscope is used by urologists in surgeries of the bladder, prostate and urethra, and can be used for tissue biopsies and the removal of tumours and diseased or damaged tissue. Resectoscopes include a telescope to allow precise visualization of the area for surgery and has a working element with an electrocautery loop to remove and cauterize tissue.
Combined Metal Industries Inc. (CMI) provides a ‘Weigh and Pay’ program that offers a pick-up service combined with competitive program pricing for all types of scrap metal, including aluminium, copper, brass, stainless steel, tin, lead, batteries, ballasts, motors, wire and much more.
Ontario Electrical League (OEL) Tri-County Chapter and Combined Metal Industries (CMI)’s meaningful support of the BCHS Foundation helps us purchase patient equipment not funded by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, provide essential resources to maintain the exceptional level of compassionate patient care, and invest in new and innovative technology.
