Fundraising – How to Register Through Our Partner CanadaHelps
- Sign up as an INDIVIDUAL if you are participating alone or along with family.
- Sign up as a TEAM if you are participating as part of a school class, day care, or community group. A Team Captain (teacher, leader, coach, etc.) must first create the team. Then team members can join that team.

Signing up as an Individual Fundraiser:
- Go to the Read4BCHS Raise page, powered by CanadaHelps: bchsysfoundation.org/read4bchs-raise
- Click on “Join as an Individual” to sign up as a solo fundraiser
- Fill out the information requested to register for a CanadaHelps account (if you already have a CanadaHelps account, you will be prompted to log in using your email address)
- You’re now registered! CanadaHelps will provide you with your own unique URL to share for donations
- Be sure to bookmark your URL, as you receive credit in our fundraising contest for all donations made through your link!
- Donors will receive a charitable tax receipt by email from CanadaHelps
Signing up to fundraise as part of a Team:
- Go to the Read4BCHS Raise page, powered by CanadaHelps: bchsysfoundation.org/read4bchs-raise
- Click on “Join a Team” to register to fundraise as a member of a class, group or team (make sure your Team Captain has provided you with your Team’s name, as you will be prompted to select a team from the list provided)
- Fill out the information requested to register for a CanadaHelps account (if you already have a CanadaHelps account, you will be prompted to log in using your email address)
- You’re now registered! CanadaHelps will provide you with your own unique URL to share for donations
- Donors will receive a charitable tax receipt by email from CanadaHelps
For Teachers, Group Leaders, etc. – Creating a Fundraising Team for others to join:
- You will be the “Team Captain” for your class, team, or group of readers
- To be a Team Captain you will need to sign up for a CanadaHelps account (or log onto your existing account)
- First, go to the Read4BCHS Raise page, powered by CanadaHelps: https://www.bchsysfoundation.org/read4bchs-raise/
- Then click on “Create a Team”
- Fill out the information requested to register for a CanadaHelps account (if you already have a CanadaHelps account, you will be prompted to log in using your email address)
- Teachers: Under Business Name please list your school’s name for tracking and prize distribution purposes
- Choose a personal fundraising page name for yourself (we recommend using your own name to avoid confusion), as well as a name for your fundraising team.
- Congratulations! You’ve now created a team and you’re the Team Captain!
- PLEASE NOTE: As a Team Captain you will have created 2 fundraising pages – your own personal fundraising page, as well as a page for the team. Please ensure you are sharing the Team’s donation page to your team members.
- Now it’s time to RAISE! We recommend that Teams read and raise collectively as a group. Simply share your team’s fundraising page link with students and their parents to utilize in their fundraising activities. That way donations are directed to your team.
- As Team Captain you can send invites to prospective team members from your “Edit My team” control panel. You can also view and modify your team’s members, and view your team’s donations
- If someone has registered to be a Read4BCHS fundraiser but forgot to join your team when signing up, please email foundation@bchsys.org with details so that they can be added to your team
