Toys “R” Us and The Starlight Foundation spread Christmas cheer in Paediatrics

Thank you to The Starlight Children’s Foundation and Toys “R” Us for donating a giant collection of children’s toys to the Paediatrics Unit at the Brant Community Healthcare System on Dec. 20.

The donated toys cover a broad age range and will be used to distract and comfort our younger patients during their stay in the Paediatrics ward. Being able to play while in hospital means that children can continue to focus on an aspect of their normal life and become more at ease with the unfamiliar surroundings and experiences of the hospital environment.

Tiffany Vincent, Value Stream Group Leader – Surgical, Maternal Child and Ambulatory Care Services, eight-year-old Paediatrics patient Sophie Gramenz and Allison McKellar, Registered Nurse Team Leader – Family Birthing Centre were on hand to show off examples of some of the many useful and fun items we received.
