A holter monitor is a small, wearable device that keeps track of and records your heart’s rhythm. Wearing a holter monitor allows caregivers to determine if and when a patient experience abnormalities in their heart rhythm and to diagnose conditions of the heart. Holter monitors are used for patients admitted to the Integrated Stroke Unit and on an out-patient basis (worn for a few days and returned with results) through Diagnostic Imaging at the BCHS.
