Fresh, Healthy Eating campaign raises $2,110 for the BCHS Diabetes Education Centre

Thank you to Sobeys (Shellard Lane) Brantford, Sobeys (307 Grand River St N, Paris, Ontario), Brantwood Farms and Brant Food Centre for their participation in the Brant Community Healthcare System Foundation 2017 Fresh, Healthy Eating campaign. Together, they raised $2,110.38 for much-needed educational tools for the BCHS Diabetes Education Centre.

Proceeds from the Fresh, Healthy Eating program will benefit outpatient programming with tools like:
• iPads to demonstrate menu planning and food tracking apps
• Food models to showcase portion sizes
• Storybooks to educate children dealing with diabetes
• FlexBands to encourage exercise

Donors to the program received a “Plan Your Portions” take-home as a helpful reminder for proper eating strategies and a window support sticker displayed in the participating store.

Thank you to all of the management, staff and customers of participating stores for their generous support for local healthcare. Together, we are transforming healthcare in our community!

If you have diabetes and are looking for support, please call Brant Community Healthcare System Diabetes Education Centre at 519-751-5544, ext. 4267. We accept self-referrals. Physician referrals are not needed.
