Supporting Patient Care – One Step at a Time
Rally your friends, family and co-workers and join us Saturday, October 14 at Waterworks Park – 322 Grand River Ave (Brantford) – for the 2nd Annual Supporting Patient Care – One Step at a Time 5-10 km Emergency Care Run-Walk event along with Emergency Department staff and physicians from the Brant Community Healthcare System (BCHS).
Participate in a one-kilometre family walk, a five km walk-run or a 10 km run to benefit the Emergency Department, enhance care and improve patient privacy and accessibility. A minimum donation of $50 is required to participate and children under 12 are free. Prizes are awarded to top individual fundraisers and charitable tax receipts will be issued for all donations over $20.
In 2015, the BCHS Emergency Department treated 54,700 patients – an average of 149 patients per day. In March, 2016 the average increased to 160 patients per day with the Emergency Department staff estimated to treat over 58,000 patients in 2016 – a 31 per cent increase from 2010.
Even after maximizing all available resources, the Emergency Department is currently bursting at the seams. This annual walk will support some much-needed improvements to the ER – a vital service in our community.
The Brantford General is our community hospital, where we all bring our families. Please join us today and help us make a difference and support patient care.
